About GITAM
Gandhi Institute of Technology and Management (GITAM) was formerly known as GITAM College of Engineering (1980–2007). It comes with the motto of “Strive Serve Thrive.” It was established in 1980. It has approximately 10,000 students who are studying in UG and PG courses. It is located in Beach Rd, in Rushikonda, in the district of Visakhapatnam, in the state of Andhra Pradesh, in South India. This university has three picturesque campuses. Its main campus is located at Visakhapatnam which is spreads over 100 acres, and the other two campuses are at Bangalore and Hyderabad. The university offers 109 programs at undergraduate, postgraduate and Doctoral levels in Management, International Business, Technology, Pharmacy, Science, Architecture and Law. Its color is Gold and Brown. It attained the status of deemed to be university in 2007, u/s 3 of the UGC Act, 1956. It is one of the most sought after and most proffered educational institution in India. It was the first private engineering institute in this state to receive university status. Moreover, it is planning on getting an ABET International Accreditation.

GITAM Admission procedure 2016-2017
The interested students can apply online, or obtain application by post from the director –admission with a request letter with mailing address and along with DD for Rs. 150/- drawn in favour of GITAM University payable at Visakhapatnam on any scheduled bank. Up to 21st March, of the academic year, the Request for application by post will be accepted. It can be also obtained within India from specified branches of Karur Vysya Bank, Union Bank of India and Indian Bank. On the other hand, the filled application should reach before 31st march of the academic year along with Demand Draft for Rs. 1,000/- (Rs. 600/- for female candidates), drawn in favor of GITAM UNIVERSITY, payable at Visakhapatnam on any scheduled bank. It should reach Director-Admissions, GITAM UNIVERSITY, Gandhi Nagar Campus, Rushikonda, Visakhapatnam – 530 045 before the said last date.
GITAM Exams 2016
The examination and semester of different under graduate and post graduate plus other courses are conducted as per the academic schedule with prior notifications. The hall tickets and date of schedule of examination are informed the students in advance.
