WB JEE Overview

West Bengal JEE 2015 (Joint Entrance Examination) is also known as WBJEEM 2015. It is a state level entrance examination for the admission to the various UG level courses in medical, engineering, technology, architecture and pharmacy field. The WBJEE 2015 will be conducted by the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination Board (WB JEEB). The board has been established in the year 1962 to regulating the examination for admission to the government and private institutions across the West Bengal state.

WB JEEM 2015 Notification

On the dated 24.09.2014 the board has issued a press release notification about the examination. The examination for the academic session 2015-16 will be held on the 18^th & 19^th April 2015 at various pre-designated centres across the state.

WB JEEM 2015 Important Dates

The West Bengal joint entrance examination board (WB JEEB) has issued a notification regarding WB JEEM 2015 application form and dates of the commencement of the examination of  WB JEEM. Here we have listed the important dates regarding the examination.

Online Application Form starts: 22.12.14

last date of registration: 14.02.2015

Date of  Examination: 18.04.15 and 19.04.15

The WB JEEM will be held on 18 and 19 April 2015. The biological sciences paper will start from 1pm to 4pm on 18 April; and Mathematics and Physics/Chemistry on 19 April from 12pm to 2pm and 3pm to 5pm respectively.

Eligibility

The candidates are suggested to read the eligibility criteria carefully before applying for the examination 2015. To comply the eligibility to appear the examination; the applicants must be a citizen of India. The applicants must be at least 17 years of age as on or before 31^st Dec 2015. Only for Marine engineering the upper age limit must not exceed to the 25 years as on 31^st July 2015. The applicant must be the domiciled of West Bengal (in case of admission to self-aided or private university for general candidates, domicile not required). The applicants must be passed the 12^th or 10+2 examination from the state or central recognized board with 60% (55% for reserved categories) for admission to Jadhavpur University or having 45% (40% for reserved) for admission to other institutions. The applicants must be medically fit.

WBJEE 2015 Application Procedure

The WBJEE application form will be available on the official portal of the board. The candidates will click on the link to the application form and fill all details in sections. The applicants will fill the application fee details. After filling the form a 7 digit number will be generated as the application number. The applicant will have to pay the application fee via online through the debit card/ credit card or via e-Challan. Finally the applicant will take the print out of the same and keep the unique application number for the further use. The confirmation page and top sheet along with requisite enclosures will have to send to the address as given below:

Application Fee

• For Engineering/Technology/Architecture/Pharmacy – Rs. 500/-
• For Medical/Dental/Pharmacy – Rs. 500/-
• For Engineering/Technology/Architecture/Pharmacy/Medical/Dental – Rs. 600/-

Exam Pattern

The examination will comprise in four subjects as Biology, mathematics, physics and chemistry. All questions will be of MCQ type. All questions will be divided in three categories like category A, B and C as the following:

There is the clause of negative marking. Each wrong answer will be punished as deduction with 25% of full mark. The answer options will be marked on the OMR sheet with Blue/Black ball point pen.

Selection Procedure

The selection of the candidates will be made on the basis of the merit rank prepared by the scores obtained by the candidates in the examination. The ranks will be provided to the engineering, medical and pharmacy separately.

Admit Card

The Board will generate an examination roll number and  WBJEE admit card on the portal and students are advised to download the admit card and carry that to the examination hall. The signature printed on the admit card should not be distorted by any reason.

WBJEE Result

The candidates can check the WBJEE 2015 result in the official website of the board, latest by 2nd week of June, 2015. The candidates who will qualify in the exam will be called for the WBJEE JEE counsellingwhich is scheduled to be commence in the month of July (tentative).
