Amrita Centre for Nanosciences Kochi invites Applications for Admission to M.Tech Programs 2015

Applications are invited by Amrita Centre for Nanosciences and Molecular Medicine at Kochi for admission to 2 years Master of Technology (M.Tech) offered in Nanoscience & Technology, Nanotechnology and Molecular Medicine for the commencing session 2015

About the Program

M.Tech in Nanomedical Sciences is focused on biomedical nanotechnologies whereas the M.Tech in Nanotechnology & Renewable Energy focuses on energy conversion and storage technologies
M.Tech in Molecular Medicine focuses on identification of molecular markers in diagnostics and therapy at the molecular level
The courses have been successful for the last five years with 100% placement and hands-on research experience in cutting - edge technologies and state-of-the-art facilities, which are one of the best in the country
The Center is a Thematic Unit of Excellence under the Nanomission program of the Govt. of India

The programmes are offered in:

Master of Technology (M.Tech) in Molecular Medicine
Master of Technology (M.Tech) in Nanomedical Sciences
Master of Technology (M.Tech) in Nanotechnology & Renewable Energy

Eligibility Criteria:

M.Tech in Molecular Medicine: Candidates should have M.Sc in any discipline of the Life Sciences or B.Tech in Biotechnology or Bioinformatics or B.Pharm, MBBS or BDS with at least 60% marks (or equivalent)
M.Tech in Nanomedical Sciences: Candidates should have M.Sc in Science (Physics, Chemistry, Materials, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Bioinformatics, Zoology) or B.Tech in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Electronics, Biomedical, Biotechnology etc) or MBBS or BDS or B.Pharm with at least 60% marks (or equivalent)
M.Tech in Nanotechnology & Renewable Energy: Candidates should have M.Sc in Physics, Chemistry, Materials Science or B.Tech in Electrical, Electronics, Chemical, Materials Science with at least 60% marks (or equivalent)
Intake Capacity of Students:
i) Molecular Medicine: 15
ii) Nanomedical Sciences: 20
iii) Nanotechnology & Renewable Energy: 10
There will be common entrance exam in different centers: Kochi, Chennai, Mumbai, Kolkata and Delhi which is followed by interview for selecting students
GATE Scholars are exempted from the common entrance exam
The Director of the Centre for Nanosciences and Molecular Medicine is Dr.Shantikumar V.Nair who received the prestigious 2011 National Research Award in Nanoscience and Technology from the Govt. of India and was a faculty at University of Massachusetts, USA, for 20 years

Selection Procedure:

The selection of the candidates will be based on their performance in the common entrance exam and interview conducted by the institute
