Central Institute of Plastics Engineering and Technology, Chennai invites admission application for Diploma, Post Diploma, Post Graduate Diploma & Doctoral Programs (all CIPET) 2015

CIPET is the premier national Institution fully devoted to Academic, Technology Support & Research (ATR) activities for the growth of Polymer & allied industries in the country

The programmes are offered in:

i) Diploma in Plastics Technology (DPT): (3 years)
Age: Maximum age 19 years
Entry qualification: Candidates should have passed Class 10 or school secondary level exam with English and Science and Maths as compulsory papers from any recognized board of exam

ii) Diploma in Plastics Mould Technology (DPMT): (3 years)
Age: Maximum age 19 years
Entry qualification: Candidates should have passed Class 10 or School Secondary level exam with English and Science and Maths as compulsory papers from any recognized board of exam

iii) Post Diploma in Plastics Mould Design with CAD/CAM: (1½ years)
Age: Maximum age 25 years
Entry qualification: 3 year Diploma in Mechanical, Plastics Technology, Tool/Production Engineering, Mechatronics, Automobile Engineering, Tool & Die Making, DPMT/DPT (CIPET) or equivalent

iv) Postgraduate Diploma in Plastics Processing & Testing (PGD-PPT): (1½ years)
Age: Maximum age 25 years
Entry qualification: 3 year Degree in Science with Chemistry as one of the subjects

v) Post Graduate Diploma in Plastics Testing & Quality Management (PGD-PTQM): (1½ years)
Age: Maximum age 25 years
Entry qualification: 3 year Degree in Science with Chemistry as one of the subjects
*Age limit is relaxable upto 5 years for applicants from SC/ST category and for candidates from North Eastern Region in the case of Diploma / Post Diploma / Postgraduate Diploma Programs

Post Graduate Degree Programmes

i) M.E./ M.Tech in Plastics Engg/Technology: (2 years)
Age: Maximum age 35 years
Entry qualification: B.E/B.Tech/B.Sc., Engg (4 years) in Mechanical / Chemical / Production / Polymer / Plastics Engineering / Technology (or) M.Sc. in Polymer Science / Chemistry with polymer specialization

ii) M.Tech in Polymer Nano-Technology: (2 years)
Age: Maximum age 35 years
Entry qualification: B.E./B.Tech. (4 years) in Mechanical, Plastics Engineering / Technology / Polymer / Chemical (or) M.Sc., in Polymer Chemistry / Polymer Science /Physics / Chemistry with valid GATE score

iii) Master of Engg in CAD/CAM (M.E. (CAD/CAM): (2 years)
Age: Maximum age 35 years
Entry qualification: B.E./B.Tech. (4 years) in Mechanical /Automobile / Manufacturing / Production / Industrial /Mechatronics / Marine / Aeronautical

iv) M.Sc Tech (Material Science and Engg): (5 years)
Age: Maximum age 21 years
Entry qualification: H.Sc/10+2 (Academic stream) with Maths, Physics & Chemistry

v) M.Sc (Polymer Science): (2 years)
Entry qualification: B.Sc (Science) degree with chemistry/industrial chemistry/polymer science/applied chemistry/industrial polymer chemistry/chemistry as one of the major subject

vi) M.Sc (Bio-Polymer Science): (2 years)
Entry qualification: Candidates with B.Sc Degree in any branch with Chemistry as one of the subjects can apply. Candidate should have passed the qualifying examination with a minimum of 50% marks in the main and subsidiary subjects taken together

Undergraduate Degree Programs

i) B.E/ B.Tech in Plastics Engg/ Technology (BE/ B.Tech (PE/PT)*: (4 years)

ii) B.E / B.Tech in Manufacturing Engg/Technology (BE/ B.Tech (ME / MT)*:  (4 years)
Age: Maximum age 21 years

Entry qualification: Candidates must have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry and Maths from any of the recognised board of examination

Selection Procedure:

CIPET Programs - Based on academic record and performance in the Joint Entrance Examination
For PG Programs - Selection through respective affiliating University norms / through CIPET JEE
For UG Programs - Selection through respective affiliating University as per their norms

Fee Structure:

M.Tech: Rs 22,000 per semester
PGD-PPT: Rs 16,500 per semester
PD-PMD with CAD/CAM: Rs 16,500 per semester
DPMT: Rs 13,750 per semester
DPT: Rs 13,750 per semester

How to Apply

Information Brochure and Application form can be obtained from any of CIPET Centres against payment of Rs.250/- for general candidates and Rs.50/- for SC/ST candidates in cash or Demand Draft drawn in favour of “CIPET” payable at Chennai

Candidates belonging to North-Eastern states can get the application forms free of cost by producing their residential proof / appropriate support documents

Candidates can fill and submit the application form online www.cipet.gov.in

List of documents to be submitted/ attached along with filled-in online Application Form:

i) Attested photocopy of Date of Birth Certificate
ii) Attested photocopies of entry qualification (X / XII standard / Diploma / Degree Certificates)
iii) Valid GATE score certificate (if available for M.Tech. program)
iv) Attested Community Certificates (for SC, ST, OBC (NCL) candidates)
v) Residential proof for North Eastern state candidates (if applicable)

Candidates  shall  take  a  printout  of  Filled - in  online  application  form  and  submit with  the  above  enclosures  to  Chief  Manager (TS) OLC CIPET Head Office, Guindy, Chennai-600032 on or before 12th June 2015
