BITSAT 2016 – The Birla Institute of Technology and
Science Admission Test (BITSAT) 2016 has started today, on 14 May 2016.
The examination was held for the intake of the candidates in BITS
Pilani, Goa, and Hyderabad. The candidates will write the last slot of
examination on 28 May 2016.
Birla Institute of Technology (BITS) has been receiving requests from the candidates for change in BITSAT exam dates/slots/ centres due to clash with other exams. Keeping this issue in view, BITS has issued a latest notification, as per which the exam for such candidates will now be conducted on 26th May at few selected centres. It is to be noted that candidate applying for the rescheduling of the exam must select the three centres from which one centre should be Pilani, Goa or Hyderabad. The details of the allocated centre will be available on the official site from 18 May 2016. BITS has made clear that after this any request regarding the change of exam centre or date will not be entertained.
BITSAT 2016 Application Form:
The application form of BITSAT 2016 was available from January 8, 2016 and deadline to apply Online was March 8, 2016 (5 pm). Interested candidates were supposed to register their names by applying in the prescribed application form online. They had to complete the application form online and pay the prescribed fees. They also were need to take the print out of the filled form for future reference.
A candidate could apply online only once for BITSAT 2016. However, if a candidate discovered any mistake in the form submitted by him, he could apply online second time and sent a letter to admission office BITS, Pilani mentioning the earlier application number, which was cancelled. In such cases, the second application had to be accompanied by a fresh application fee.
BITSAT 2016 Syllabus:

BITSAT Syllabus for Physics:
Candidates could choose BITSAT 2016 Exam Centers from within India or Dubai. If a candidate selected centers within India, he/she sould give three preferences, while if a candidate chooses Dubai as a center, he/she was not asked for any other center preference.
The final list of centers in India and operating days at each center in India and Dubai were announced after all the applications are received. Therefore, candidates could choose their date for the test as per accessibility and availability of slots in any of these centers. Allotment of test center and announcement to candidates of the same could be done on March 10, 2016 or later.
For providing admissions to Integrated First Degree Programmes, BITSAT Online Tests is being conducted across 51 cities of India including campuses of BITS located in Pilani, Goa, Hyderabad and Dubai.
BITSAT 2016 Admit Card:
Candidates can download BITSAT 2016 Admit Card/Hall Ticket with instructions, from April 6 onwards. Each candidate, who had registered for BITSAT 2016 was instructed to download the Hall Ticket. Those with the hall ticket only are allowed inside the test centers. Candidates must keep BITSAT 2016 Admit Card/Hall Ticket (identity proof) safe with them till the admission procedure gets over.

Eligibility Criteria:
Students must have
passed the 12th examination from a recognized central or state board or its
equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. Also, they must have
adequate proficiency in English.
They should have
obtained a minimum of aggregate 75% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics/Biology
subjects in 12th examination. Candidates must secure at least 60% marks in each
of these subjects individually.
Only Students, who
are appearing for 12th examination in 2016 or who have passed 12th Examination
in 2015, are eligible to appear in the online test.
Candidates, who
have passed 12th class in 2014 or earlier are not eligible for BITSAT 2016.
Candidates having
first rank in all the central and state boards in India for the year 2016 will
be given direct admission to the programme of their choice, irrespective of
their BITSAT-2016 score as per the eligibility criteria mentioned above.

BITS has announced BITSAT 2016 Exam Pattern that includes details of exam duration, number of sections, subjects covered, number of questions and marking scheme.
BITSAT 2016 is being conducted with 3 hour exam duration (without break).
The exam is of objective-type and is divided in 4 parts - Part I, Part II, Part III and Part IV.
With a total of 150 questions, each correct answer of BITSAT 2016 fetches 3 marks, while for every incorrect answer, 1 mark is deducted (-1). For unattempted question, no mark (zero) will be awarded.
Candidates appearing for BITSAT 2016 can check below paper pattern of 2016:
Any
candidate capable of answering 150 questions within the specified time
(without skipping any question) can attempt an additional 12 questions
(four each from Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry only).
