Dr. D. Y. Patil Pratishthan, Pimpri, Pune established Padmashree Dr. D. Y. Patil Institute of Engineering and Technology in July, 1998. From the academic year 2002-2003
Padmashree Dr. D. Y. Patil is a pioneer in ushering an era of privatisation of technical education in Maharashtra. He is a philanthropist, educationist and social worker. Under his able guidance, the Pratishthan has more than 75 academic institutions of international repute from kindergarren to post graduation in various disciplines in Pune. For this contribution to the cause of education, Dr. D. Y. Patil was honoured by the President of India with the Padmashree in 1991. He was also conferred with two doctorate degrees in Philosophy, the first by The World University Round Table(USA) in 1985, and the second by a University in Britain in 1996.
Padmashree Dr. D. Y. Patil Institute of Engineering & Technology, Pimpri, Pune, was established as Padmashree Dr. D. Y. Patil Women’s College of Engineering in July, 1998.
The college is converted into Co-education College with a changed name as Padmashree Dr. D. Y. Patil Institute of Engineering & Technology, Pimpri, Pune from the academic year 2002-2003. The Institute is situated in the vicinity of Pimpri Chinchwad industrial belt, which is one of the biggest industrial belts in Asia.
All the eligible programmes have been accredited by the National Board of Accreditation (NBA).
The Institute has been awarded ‘A’ grade by the Government of Maharashtra (India). The Institute is an ISO 9001:2008 certified institute.
The Institute has well-equipped laboratories with ultra modern facilities supported by highly qualified teaching faculty in all branches catered to by the institute. The Central Library is furnished with reference books, text books, national and international journals and internet facility as a part of informal teaching.
Training & Placement Cell headed and supported by highly qualified teaching faculty is in close liaison with industry and is operational in shaping careers and future of the students.
