Symbiosis Institute of Technology(SIT), a constituent of Symbiosis International University was established in the year, 2008 and currently offers B. Tech programmes in Civil Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering, Information Technology and Mechanical Engineering and M.Tech programmes in Computer Aided Design and Manufacture, Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering , Geoinformatic & Surveying Technology and M.Sc. programme in Physics. Research programmes leading to Ph. D. Degree have already been started in Faculty of Engineering of Symbiosis International University.

The Institute endeavors to provide quality technical education in line with the requirements of today’s competitive industry and fast paced technological developments. The curriculum developed by the Institute lays a stress both on basics and latest developments. The B-Tech program is a full-time four-year graduation programme, which aims at transforming a student into a professional with academic excellence and research aptitude. The programme has industry oriented curriculum and a wide range of value addition courses from the areas of liberal arts, performing arts and inter-institutional courses from law, media and management. The program aims to develop holistic personality of students including domain knowledge and soft skills and makes them not only complete technologists but also good human beings with respect for human and national values.

Admission procedure

The admissions of the eligible candidates to B. Tech program of the institute will be based on merit in any one of the entrance exams SET or JEE (Main). The admission will be carried out through open counseling, in which the candidate has to be physically present on the date of counseling along with his/her original certificates. The details of the counseling procedure and documents required will be available on the institute’s website.

Registration.

Only the registered candidates will be able to participate in the counseling for admission.

1 Admission through Symbiosis Entrance Test (SET)

• Register for SET examination on www.set-test.org and pay online, a fee of Rs. 1500/-.Registration start date : 12th February,2014
• Last date of registration for SET examination is 13th April, 2014
• Register for Symbiosis Institute of Technology by payment of Rs. 1000/- on www.sitpune.edu.in latest by 20th May, 2014.
• Report in the Institute on 8th June, 2014 for counseling for admission based on SET merit.

2 Admission through JEE(Main)

• Apply for admission to Symbiosis Institute of Technology by filling up the form online and making a payment of Rs. 1500/-, on www.sitpune.edu.in latest by 20th May, 2014.
• The Score in the entrance examination can be submitted later.
• Registered candidates can communicate their marks /rank in the examination after declaration of the result.
•  Report in the Institute for counseling and admission on 15th June, 2014

Important Information for students

• The session will start from 14th July, 2014..
• There will be an Induction programme of one week long, starting on 14th July, 2014.at 12.00 Noon. The students will be apprised of academic rules and regulations, code of conduct and many other aspects of teaching-learning process and life on campus.
• Regular classes will start from 21st July, 2014..
• Following articles will be provided in the hostels;

           a. Bed, Mattress

           b. Table, Chair and Cupboard

           c. Bucket and Mug

• Students have to bring, bed sheets and other things required by them.
• Students should also bring the pending documents (documents which they could not produce at the time of admission) and their attested photocopies.
• Students can arrive at Pune on 13th July, 2014. They can stay in the hostel on that day after getting the hostel allotment. There is no facility available for the stay of the parents on campus.
• Hostel fee has to be paid for hostel allotment.
• Transport from Symbiosis, SB road to SIT can be arranged for the students and parents on 13th July, 2014 and 14th July 2014 based on their request.
• Students have to purchase their books and stationery on their own. The institute will facilitate this by inviting some book sellers to the Institute.
• At SIT students wear uniform on some specified dates. The uniform
