He took over a Polytechnic Institute (Sou Venutai Chavan Polytechnic) which was not doing so well and transformed it into a class of its own. Eligibility Criteria for BE engineering admission in Sinhgad Institutes

• Eligibility criteria for admission of Maharashtra State and OMS candidate to First year degree courses in Engineering / Technology:

1. Candidates should be an Indian National.
2. Passed the HSC (Std. XII) examination of Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary education or its equivalent examination with subjects English, Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics and secured minimum 45% marks i.e. 135 marks out of 300 marks (minimum 40% marks i.e. 120 marks out of 300 marks in case of candidates of Backward class categories belonging to the State of Maharashtra only) in the subjects Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics added together.
3. Obtained non-zero score in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics at MHT-CET OR Candidate should have a valid AIEEE Score (i.e. the total score should be positive)

•  Eligibility criteria for J & K migrant candidates:

1. Candidates should be an Indian National,
2. Passed the HSC (Std. XII) examination of Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education or its equivalent examination with English, Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics subjects and secured minimum 50% marks i.e. 150 marks out of 300 marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics subjects added together,
3. The candidates belonging to the above category are not required to appear for the MHT-CET / AIEEE.

Direct Admission to Second Year-Degree Course in Engineering (Lateral Entry):

Eligibility Criteria: The Candidate must be an Indian National and passed Post-SSC or Post-HSC Diploma Course in Engineering/Technology with at least 45 % marks (40 % marks in the case of candidates from Back-ward class and Physically Handicapped categories belonging to the State of Maharashtra only) in the Appropriate branch of Engineering / Technology from an AICTE approved Institution with English as the medium of instruction at Diploma level.

OR

The Candidate must be an Indian National and passed B.Sc. Degree from a UGC /Association of Indian Universities recognized University with at least 45% marks (40 % marks in the case of candidates from Back-ward class and Physically Handicapped categories belonging to the State of Maharashtra only).
