About Seemanta Engineering College (also known as SEC)

The collage at Mayurbhanj is one of the oldest private engineering colleges in the northern part of state Orissa, India. SEC founded in 1997 as a sister institute of Seemanta Mahavidyalaya Samiti which was founded by Mr Paresh Chandra Basa in the year 1978.

• The Btech fees is  Around 49000 ,And Mtech Fees is around 30000 per year

Admission Procedure:

For B.Tech

• The institute would admit 90% of its total intake capacity, i.e., 513 Students per year, for the academic session 2015-16 with a valid Rank in the JEE (Main)-2015 followed by the counseling process of OJEE 2015 and rest 10% of the total seats i.e., 57 would be filled up through NRI quota / Management quota scheme, as decided by the Govt. of Odisha.
  
• All these seats would be allocated to the students through OJEE counseling conducted by Biju Patnaik University of Technology (BPUT), Rourkela, Odisha.
  
• Further 5% of the total seats of the institute would be admitted under the Tuition Fee Waiver Scheme (TFW) beyond the approved intake capacity, as per the norms of the Government and AICTE.
  
• The left out seats if any may be filled up by the rank holders of JEE (Main)-2015. The admission procedure is subject to change by Govt. of Odisha / BPUT,Rourkela.
  

For Lateral Entry (B.Tech)

The institute would admit 100% of its total intake capacity, i.e., 116 Students per year, for the academic session 2015-16 with a valid Rank in the OJEE - 2015 followed by the counseling process of OJEE 2015.

Important: The vacant seats of previous session will also be added to the seat matrix for admission under Lateral Entry Scheme, as decided by the Govt. of Odisha. 

• For Diploma Engineering

The institute would admit 100% of its total intake capacity, i.e., 120 Students per year, for the academic session 2015-16 with a valid Rank in the DET - 2015 followed by the counseling process of DET-2015.
Further 5% of the total seats of the institute would be admitted under the Tuition Fee Waiver Scheme (TFW) beyond the approved intake capacity, as per the norms of the Government and AICTE.

• For Lateral Entry (Diploma Engineering)

The institute would admit 100% of its total intake capacity, i.e., 24 Students per year, for the academic session 2015-16 with a valid Rank in the DET - 2015 followed by the counseling process of DET-2015.
Important: The vacant seats of previous session will also be added to the seat matrix for admission under Lateral Entry Scheme, as decided by the Govt. of Odisha.

For M.Tech

• The institute would admit 35 Students per year, for the academic session 2015-16 with a valid Rank in the PGAT (OJEE)-2015 / GATE-2015 followed by the counseling process of OJEE 2015 and rest 01 seat would be filled up through NRI quota / Management quota scheme, as decided by the Govt. of Odisha.

For M.C.A

• The institute would admit 54 Students per year, for the academic session 2015-16 with a valid Rank in the OJEE-2015 / NIMCET-2015 followed by the counseling process of OJEE 2015 and rest 06 seats would be filled up through NRI quota / Management quota scheme, as decided by the Govt. of Odisha. 

For Lateral Entry (M.C.A)

• The institute would admit 100% of its total intake capacity, i.e., 12 Students per year, for the academic session 2015-16 with a valid Rank in the OJEE - 2015 followed by the counseling process of OJEE 2015.

Facilities at  Seemanta Engineering College
1)Hostel
The institute accommodates the students in its in-campus hostels. It has separate hostels for boys and girls of both undergraduate and post graduate courses. The hostels have inherited the idyllic milieu being located within the campus.
These hostels provide healthy study atmosphere, Common rooms, newspapers, LCD Television, DTH service, spacious and hygienic Dining halls, Telephone, Medical facility, 24hrs Ambulance service, Week end visit to district headquarter, courier service, Photocopy facility etc.
    2)Transport

The institute has maintained a fleet of vehicles for meeting its transportation needs. The fleet composed of a fleet of vehicles comprising 05 buses, 01 SUV, 01 MUV and an Ambulance to meet the transportation needs of its inmates. The Liaison Officer is in-charge the Management of Transportation. Moreover a faculty has been made the transport in-charge to oversee it
3)Canteen:
The institution promotes a canteen in the campus to refresh the students with delicious, hygienic food at a subsidized price. The canteen is maintained by the institute and remains vigilant over the quality of foods, maintenance of hygienic atmosphere and pricing. The canteen serves the institutional needs round the clock.
