About Indira Gandhi Institute of Technology (IGIT):

The college was established in the year of 1982 and was managed directly by the Govt. of Orissa in the name of Orissa College of Engineering (OCE). Prior to this, since 1981.There are eight departments, well equipped with highly qualified faculties and adequately equipped laboratories. The research activities of the institute are comparable with any other leading institute of the State and the Country.
The faculties are well in touch with the advancement in modern technology around the world. Every year, numbers of research papers are published in journals and Conferences of National and International repute. 15 nos. of Ph.DS have so far been produced in different departments. Every year, National Conferences / Short term courses are organized in the institute in collaboration with IE / ISTE / AICTE. People across the country and outside also are in touch with our faculties in connection with technical research and consultancy. Quite a good nos. of our alumni are excelling in their field across the world.

Admission Procedure:

• Merit of the All India Overall Rank prepared by CBSE giving 40% weightage (suitably normalized) to class XII (or equivalent examination) or other qualifying examination marks and 60% to the performance in JEE Main Examination (Paper-1). 85% seats will be reserved for Delhi candidates.
  
•  Candidate shall be eligible for admission to the First Year of the Bachelor Degree Programme in Architecture (B. Arch.) if they have obtained at least 50% marks in  aggregate, with Mathematics as a subject in the Class 12th qualifying examination and qualifies the JEE (Main) – 2015 (Paper – 2) examination.  The candidate must have been declared eligible for Central Counseling by the CBSE. For more details regarding admission to B.Arch. Programme applicants may refer to the JAC website. 85% seats will be reserved for Delhi candidates.
  

Facilities at Indira Gandhi Institute of Technology

1)LIBRARY 

The Institute library has a valuable collection of about 30,000 text & reference books, Hand books I.S. codes. About 50 nos of journals are being subscribed to Institute Library.The library remains open from 9.00 A.M. to 8.00 P.M. with one hour lunch break i.e. from 1.00 PM to 2.00 PM on all working days except on Saturday Saturday timing is from 9 AM to 1.00 PM. On Sunday and other public holidays it is closed.All the library transactions work are being done computer as it is a automated library.

The IGIT HEALTH CLUB was inaugurated on 3rd March 2008 in order to keep the students, staff and their wards physically fit. The club at present is well equipped with modern apparatus for three segments such as Cardio Vascular efficiency, Weight Training (Shape Up in Style) and General Fitness. Registered members of the Club are entitled to avail the facilities on payment of nominal user fee. The Winter Session of the Club is 1st Aug. to 31st Jan. Where as the Summer Session starts from 1st Feb. and ends on 31st July each year. Enrolment procedures for respective sessions are to be over by 20th of July and January. The Club is managed by the Society of Physical Education & Recreation at present.
