Cochin University CUSAT 2015 Notification and Dates

Cochin University of Science and Technology has invited applications from eligible candidates for admission to various academic programmes of the University for the year 2015-16

Admission to various courses are based on Common Admission Test (CAT)/Departmental Admission Test (DAT)/Test for Lateral Entry (LET) and C-MAT(AICTE)/MAT(AIMA)/CAT(IIM)score for MBA
Online registration for CAT, LET and PG programmes including M.Tech and MBA programmeswill begin on 05th January 2015 till 24th January 2015
Remittance of fee at Bank (through chalan/net banking) can be done from 07th January to 29 January 2015
Candidates who have appeared/are appearing in full for their final qualifying examinations are also eligible to apply; but in the case of candidates appearing for compartmental/improvement examinations this provision is not applicable
Candidates are required to submit their qualifying degree certificate at the time of counseling/interview/Group Discussion/admission, whichever is earlier
For First Degree Programmes (B.Tech. and 5 year Integrated M.Sc. in Photonics), the CAT will be conducted on All-India basis with test centres in New Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai, Chennai, Bangalore, Jamshedpur, Allahabad, Lucknow, Ranchi, Varanasi, Kota, Dubai, Thiruvananathapuram, Kollam, Adoor (Pathanamthitta), Thodupuzha (Idukki), Alappuzha, Kottayam, Ernakulam, Thrissur, Palakkad, Malappuram, Kozhikode, Kannur, Kalpatta (Wayanad) and Kasaragod
For all other programmes except 3 year LLB/Lateral entry programme, the test will be conducted at specified centres within the state of Kerala. For 3 year LLB and Lateral entry programme, the admission tests will be conducted at Ernakulam center only
The Departmental Admission Tests (DATs) are conducted in the University campus by the individual Departments/ Schools/Centres of the University; the dates of these tests will be announced separately by the individual departments

1. ADMISSION THROUGH CAT

Applicants for the following programmes are required to appear for CAT, except where specifically indicated otherwise

First Degree Programmes

A) B.Tech in Civil Engg, Computer Science & Engg, Electrical & Electronics Engg, Electronics & Communication Engg*, Information Technology, Mechanical Engg, and Safety & Fire Engg
b) B.Tech in Polymer Science & Engineering
C) Five Year Integrated M.Sc in Photonics
D) B.Tech in Instrumentation Technology
E) B.Tech in Marine Engg. (Residential Programme)**
F) B.Tech in Naval Architecture & Ship Building
G) 5 Year B.B.A LL.B (Hons) (Cost sharing)
H) 5 Year B.Com LL.B (Hons) (Cost sharing)

Eligibility Criteria

For item A, B & C: Pass in plus-two examination of the state of Kerala or any other examination accepted as equivalent thereto with mathematics, physics and chemistry as optional subjects securing a minimum of 50% marks in mathematics and 50% marks in mathematics, physics and chemistry put together
For item D: Pass in plus-two examination of the state of Kerala or any other examination accepted as equivalent thereto with mathematics, physics and chemistry as optional subjects securing a minimum of 60% marks in mathematics, physics and chemistry put together, with at least 55% in mathematics separately
For item E: i) Pass in plus-two examination of the state of Kerala or any other examination accepted as equivalent thereto with physics, chemistry, mathematics and English as separate subjects with a PCM average of not less than 60% marks & minimum 50% for mathematics alone; candidates should have obtained 50% marks in English at 10th or 12th standards
This is applicable to the SC/ST candidates also
ii) Medical fitness Certificate obtained from Medical Examiners approved by DG Shipping is required
iii) Vocational/Diploma students are not eligible to apply
iv) The Maximum age limit prescribed is 25 years as on 1st September of the year of admission
v) Eligibility for admission is based on the directions from the DG Shipping (Govt. of India)
For item F: Pass in plus-two examination of the state of Kerala or any other examination accepted as equivalent thereto with a First Class (60%) securing a minimum of 50% marks in mathematics as well as for mathematics, physics and chemistry put together
For item G: i) Pass in Plus 2 examination with 60% marks in Science/Commerce group or 55% marks in Arts/Humanities; ii) Candidates should not have completed 20 years of age on July 1st of the year of admission. 22 years in the case of SC/ST and OBC candidates
For item H: i) Pass in Plus 2 examination with 60% marks in Science group or 55% marks in Commerce/Arts/Humanities; ii) Candidates should not have completed 20 years of age on July 1st of the year of admission. 22 years in the case of SC/ST & OBC candidates
(Students who have taken their 10+2 or degree through distance or correspondence method are eligible to apply for B.B.A LL.B and B.Com LL.B (Hons), whereas those who passed the course through Open University Scheme without any basic qualifications are ineligible for admission to this course)

Note: i) SC/ST candidates are eligible for admission, if they have pass marks in qualifying examination except for B.Tech in Marine Engg; ii) SEBC Candidates are eligible for a 5% relaxation in marks (Under Graduate Programs) except for B.Tech in Marine Engg

Post Graduate Programmes

Eligibility Criteria

3 year LLB

Pass in Bachelors degree with not less than 40% marks in the aggregate in any discipline of a University recognized by CUSAT (35% for SC/ST candidates)
Candidates who have appeared for the qualifying examination may also apply, in anticipation of results; however, the mark lists obtained in the qualifying examination shall be produced at the time of admission; those who fail to produce mark lists shall not be considered for admission
LL.M
Bachelor’s degree in Law with at least 45% marks
M.A. Hindi Language and Literature
B.A/B.Sc degree with Hindi as a subject of study with at least 45% marks in Hindi
MBA (Full-time)
Bachelor’s degree in any subject with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate
MBA (Part-time)
i) Bachelors degree in any subject with 50% marks in aggregate; ii) 50% of the seats are reserved for candidates having 3 years of supervisory/executive experience after taking the degree; iii) In the absence of such candidates as mentioned in (ii) vacancies will be offered to any other candidates satisfying eligibility as per (i)
MBA (Travel & Tourism)
Bachelor’s degree in any subject with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate
MBA (International Business)
Bachelor’s degree in any discipline recognized by the University with 50% marks in aggregate
MA Applied Economics
Bachelor’s degree in Economics with 55% marks in Part III (Economics and Subsidiaries) or 60% marks with B.Com., BBA, BBM with Economics as one of the subject or B.Sc Mathematics or Statistics with 65% marks
MCA (Regular and Cost Sharing)
Any graduate with mathematics as one of the main or subsidiary subjects or graduate in Electronics /Computer Science/Computer Applications/Engg/Technology with aggregate 55% marks in all subjects other than Languages and Humanities
M.Sc Chemistry
B.Sc degree with Chemistry/Polymer Chemistry/Environmental Chemistry/Industrial Chemistry / Petrochemicals (main), with Mathematics as one of the subsidiary subjects with at least 55% marks in the main subject
M.Sc Biotechnology
Bachelor’s degree in any branch of Life Sciences including Agricultural and Medical Science or Chemical Science or Chemical Engg with a minimum of 55% marks in aggregate
M.Sc in Biopolymer Science
B.Sc degree with Chemistry as one of the main or subsidiary subjects; the candidate should have passed the qualifying examination with a minimum of 50% marks in the main and subsidiary subjects taken together; the course is conducted by CIPET (Centre for Bio-Polymer Science & Technology, Eloor, Kochi) in collaboration with CUSAT
M.Sc Electronic Science (with specialization in Artificial Intelligence, Robotics, Microwave, Electronics and Computer Technology)
First class B.Sc degree with not less than 60% aggregate marks in Electronics or Physics
M.Sc Environmental Technology
Stream I - Environmental Engineering
Graduate in Chemistry with Physics and Mathematics as subsidiaries or Graduate in Engg. (Civil/Public Health/Environmental/Chemical) with 55% marks (50% in the case of SC/ST candidates) in optional subjects in the qualifying exam and a valid score in the CAT, conducted by the University
Stream II - Environmental Bio-Technology
Graduate in Life Sciences/ Environmental Science/ Zoology/ Botany/ Microbiology with 55% marks (50% in the case of SC/ST candidates) in optional subjects in the qualifying exam and a valid score in the CAT exam conducted by the University
M.Sc Hydrochemistry
B.Sc degree in Chemistry with Physics and Mathematics as subsidiaries or B.Sc. degree of any University in Kerala with Polymer Chemistry/Industrial Chemistry/Petrochemicals/Environment & Water Management as the main subject and Mathematics and Physics/Computer Science, as subsidiaries with a minimum of 55% marks in the respective main subject
M.Sc Industrial Fisheries
Bachelor’s degree in Zoology/Botany/Fisheries with at least 55% marks in the optional subjects. Bachelor’s degree in Fisheries includes Industrial Fisheries/Aquaculture/Fishery Science/Industrial Fish and Fisheries/BFSc in Nautical science
M.Sc Instrumentation
B.Sc degree in Instrumentation/Physics/Electronics with 60% marks from any recognized University
M.Sc Marine Biology
B.Sc degree with any branch of Life Sciences such as Aquaculture, Bio-chemistry, Biotechnology, Botany, Microbiology and Zoology as a main subject or B.Sc. degree in Fishery Science with at least 55% marks in the optional subjects
M.Sc Marine Geology
B.Sc degree in Geology /Physics/Chemistry with at least 60% aggregate marks
M.Sc Marine Geophysics
B.Sc degree in Geology or Physics with Mathematics as one of the subjects and at least 60% aggregate marks
M.Sc Mathematics
B.Sc degree with Mathematics main, with at least 55% marks for optional subjects taken together
M.Sc Meteorology
B.Sc degree with Physics/Mathematics as the main subject with 55% marks. Those with Mathematics as the main subject should have studied Physics as one of the subsidiaries and vice-versa
M.Sc Oceanography
B.Sc degree with Physics/Mathematics as the main subject with 55% marks. Those with Mathematics as the main subject should have studied Physics as one of the subsidiaries and vice-versa
M.Sc Physics
B.Sc degree with Physics main and Mathematics as subsidiary with at least 55% marks in Physics
M.F.Sc Seafood Safety and Trade
Bachelor’s degree in Fisheries/Food Technology/Food Science /Microbiology/Biochemistry/Zoology with at least 55% marks in optional subjects. Candidates should have bachelor’s degree in Fisheries includes Industrial Fisheries/Aquaculture/Fishery Science/Industrial Fish & Fisheries /B.F.Sc (Nautical Science) Bachelor’s degree in Food Technology/Food Science includes B.Tech/B.E/B.Sc in Food Science and Technology/Food Science and Management/Food Science/Food Technology/Food processing Technology/Food Science and Quality Control
M.Sc Statistics
B.Sc degree in Mathematics or Statistics main with at least 55% marks for optional subjects taken together
Note: SC/ST candidates are eligible for admission, if they have pass marks in qualifying examination unless otherwise specified

Dual Degree Programmes

Master of Intellectual Property (MIP), Ph.D

Bachelor’s Degree in Law, Economics, Political Science, History, Management and Science & Technology with 55% from any of the Universities in Kerala or an examination of any other University accepted by the University as equivalent thereto and should have obtained rank in CAT conducted by the University

LL.M (IPR) Ph.D Degree

Bachelor’s Degree in Law with 55% from any of the Universities in Kerala or an examination of any other. University accepted by the University as equivalent thereto and should have obtained rank in CAT conducted by the University
Note: SC/ST candidates are eligible for admission, if they have pass marks in qualifying examination

2. ADMISSION TO M.TECH PROGRAMMES

Admissions to the following M.Tech programmes are based on valid GATE score as prescribed under the academic regulations specific to each programme
Candidates not possessing GATE may also apply, but will be considered only if GATE qualified candidates are not available. In such cases, admissions will be based on the DAT conducted by the respective Departments
M.Tech Atmospheric Science
i) M.Sc degree or its equivalent in Meteorology, Oceanography, Mathematics, Physics, and Space Physics with a First Class (60%) marks from any recognized University or Institution; ii) A valid GATE score or a pass in the Joint UGC CSIR Test (NET) for JRF
M.Tech Computer Aided Structural Analysis & Design
i) B.Tech or Equivalent degree in Naval Architecture and Ship building/Civil Engg/Mechanical Engg with a first class (60%) marks from any recognized University or Institution; ii) A valid GATE score
M.Tech Computer & Information Science
i) B.Tech or equivalent degree or AMIETE/AMIE in Computer Science/Information Technology or Electronics and Communication or MCA; with a first class (60% marks) applicable to all the above from any recognized University or Institution; ii) A valid GATE score in the subject Computer Science and Information Technology
M.Tech Software Engg
i) B.Tech or equivalent degree or AMIETE/AMIE in Computer Science/Information Technology or Electronics and Communication or MCA; with a first class (60% marks) applicable to all the above from any recognized University or Institution; ii) A valid GATE score in the subject Computer Science and Information Technology
M.Tech Computer Science with Specialization in Embedded Systems (Part-Time)
i) First Class B.Tech degree in Computer Science & Engineering / Electronics Engg/Information Technology/Electrical Engg or equivalent branches or MCA with 60% marks or equivalent CGPA; ii) Minimum of 1 year experience in Industry/University/Institution recognized by appropriate statutory bodies
M.Tech Electronics (With specialization in Digital Electronics, Microwave & Radar Electronics)
i) B.Tech or equivalent degree/AMIETE/AMIE in Electronics and Communication Engg/Electrical Engg/Electronics and Instrumentation or M.Sc degree in Electronics/Physics (with Electronics as specialization) with a first class (60%) marks from any recognized University or Institution
ii) A valid GATE score in Electronics/Electronics and Communication Engineering. 3. If sufficient numbers of candidates are not available in Category 2 above, candidates with GATE score in Instrumentation, Electrical & Electronics Engg., Electrical Engg., or Physics will be considered. In the absence of GATE qualified candidates Non-GATE candidates can be admitted on the basis of DAT
M.Tech Industrial Catalysis
i) M.Sc degree in Chemistry/Applied Chemistry or any other degree recognized as equivalent with at least a first class (60%) marks from any recognized University or Institution with valid GATE Score
M Tech Marine Engineering
i) Shall have passed B.Tech /BE/BS Degree in Marine Engineering or B.Tech/B.Sc (Engg) Degree in Mechanical Engineering or B Tech Degree in Naval Architecture & Ship Building with a minimum of 60% Marks or an Examination of any other University/Institution accepted by this University as Equivalent thereto with 60 % marks
For admission to M.Tech Marine Engineering GATE score is not considered
M.Tech Marine Biotechnology
B.Tech/ BE in Chemical Engineering, Biochemical Engineering, Industrial Biotechnology, Leather Biotechnology, Chemistry/Biotechnology, Biomedical Engineering, B.Pharm, Chemical Technology or M.Sc in Biotechnology, Marine Biotechnology, Life Sciences, Botany/ Zoology/Biochemistry, Microbiology/ Genetics, Biophysics, Microbial Genetics and Bioinformatics, Marine Biology/Aquatic Biology and Fisheries/Environmental Biotechnology/Mariculture with 60% marks or equivalent CGPA from any recognized Indian or Foreign University
For admission to M.Tech Marine Biotechnology GATE score is not considered. Selection of candidates is done by JNU on behalf of Department of Biotechnology, Govt. of India
M.Tech Ocean Technology
i) M.Sc Degree in Oceanography/Physics/Marine Geology/Meteorology/Marine Geophysics/Environmental Sciences or M.Sc (Tech) degree in Marine Geophysics or B.Tech or equivalent degree /AMIE in Civil Engg/Environmental Sciences with 60% marks from any recognized University or Institution; ii) A valid GATE score in any of the subjects mentioned above as the second paper
M.Tech Opto-Electronics & Laser Technology
i) Masters Degree in Physics/Electronics/Photonics/B.Tech or B.E Degree in Electronics and Communication Engg/Electronics Engg/Electrical and Electronics Engg with a First Class (60%) from any recognized University or Institution; ii) A valid GATE score in the concerned branch of study (3) if sufficient numbers of candidates with GATE score in the concerned branch of study are not available, candidates with GATE score in Instrumentation will be considered; if sufficient numbers of GATE score holders are not available a pass in DAT is sufficient
M.Tech Polymer Technology
i) B.Tech or equivalent Degree/AMIE in Polymer Science and Rubber Technology/Chemical Engg/Technology or M.Sc Polymer Chemistry/M.Sc Chemistry with Polymer Chemistry as specialisation with a first class (60%) marks from any recognized University or Institution; ii) A valid GATE score
M.Tech. Civil Engineering with specialization in Geotechnical Engg**
i) Should have passed B.Tech/B.E/B.Sc Engineering Degree Examination in Civil Engineering branch with a minimum 60% marks from any University in Kerala or an examination of any other University/Institution accepted by this University as equivalent thereto
ii) Candidates who have passed Sections A&B examinations conducted by the Institution of Engineers (India) - AMIE in Civil branch shall be eligible
iii) A valid GATE Score
In the absence of sufficient number of candidates with GATE Score, candidates without GATE Score shall also be considered subject to passing an admission test conducted by the University (DAT)
M.Tech Mechanical Engineering with specialization in Thermal Engineering**
i) Should have passed B.Tech/B.E./B.Sc Engineering Degree Examination in Mechanical branch with a minimum of 60% marks from any University in Kerala or an examination of any other University/institution accepted by this University as equivalent thereto
ii) Candidates who have passed sections A and B examinations conducted by the Institution of Engineers (India) - AMIE in Mechanical branch shall be eligible
iii) A valid GATE score in Mechanical Engineering
In the absence of GATE qualified candidates non GATE candidates can be admitted on the basis of a Departmental Admission Test (DAT)
M Tech Electronics & Communication Engineering with specialization in Wireless Technology**
i) Should have passed B.Tech/ B.E/B.Sc Engg Degrees in Electronics or Electrical and Electronics or Electronics & Communication branch with a minimum of 60% marks from any University of Kerala or an Examination of any other University/Institution accepted by this University as equivalent thereto
ii) A valid GATE Score
In the absence of GATE qualified candidates non GATE candidates can be admitted on the basis of a Departmental Admission Test (DAT)
M.Tech Information Technology with specialization in Software Systems**
i) Should have passed B.Tech/BE/B.Sc Engg Degrees in Information Technology/Computer Science & Engg/Computer Engg/Biomedical Engg/Electronics & Communication/Electronics/Electrical & Electronics branch with a minimum of 60% marks or CGPA 6.5 in 10  point scale from any University of Kerala or an Exam of any other University/Institution accepted by this University as equivalent thereto
ii) A valid GATE Score
In the absence of GATE qualified candidates non GATE candidates can be admitted on the basis of a Departmental Admission Test (DAT)
M.Tech Health, Safety & Environment Management
a) Shall have passed B.Tech/BE/B.Sc Engineering Degree Examination in Chemical /Civil /Mechanical /Safety & Fire Engineering branches with a minimum of 60% marks from any University in Kerala or an Examination of any other University/Institution accepted by the University as equalent thereto
ii) Candidtates who have passed sessions A & B Examinations conducted by the Institution of Engineers (India) - AMIE in Chemical/Civil/Mechanical branches or Indian Institute of Chemical Engineers - AMIIChE shall also the eligible
iii) A valid GATE score. In the absence of sufficient number of candidates with GATE score, candidate without GATE score shall also the considered subject to passing the Departmental Admission Test
M.Tech Computer Science & Engineering with specilisation in Network Computing
i) B.Tech or equalent Degree/AMIETE/AMIE in Computer Science & Engineering/Information Technology/ Electronics and Communication Engineering with a minimum 60% marks or CGPA 6.5 in 10 point scale from any recognised University in Kerala or any other University Institution accepted by this University as equalent thereto
ii) A valid GATE score. In the absence of sufficient number of candidates with GATE score, candidate without GATE score shall also be considered on the performance in the Departmental Admission Test
Part Time M.Tech in Civil Engineering (Construction Engg & Management), Chemical Engineering (Process Engg), Mechanical Engg (Production Engg.) and Electrical & Electronics Engineering with specialization in Power Electronics**
i) Should have passed B.Tech/B.Sc Engg Degree Examination in the respective branch with a minimum of 50% marks
ii) Candidates who have passed sections A and B examinations in respective/allied branches conducted by Institution of Engineer’s (India), Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers and Indian Institute of Chemical Engineers are also eligible for admission if they have an Engineering Diploma or a basic degree in Science
iii) Should have a minimum of 2 years experience in the concerned field after acquiring qualifying degree
This may be relaxed if sufficient number of candidates with the minimum prescribed experience is not available
iv) Open seats will be allotted on the basis of the score in Departmental Admission Test, marks obtained in the qualifying examination and experience

3. ADMISSIONS THROUGH DAT

Post Graduate Programme

M.A. Translation (German/Russian): Bachelor’s degree of any University recognized by CUSAT and Diploma level knowledge in the language concerned
Diploma /Certificate Programmes (Part-Time)
a) Certificate courses in French/German/Japanese/Russian: Pass in pre degree / plus two or equivalent thereto of any University recognized by CUSAT. Previous knowledge of the language is not essential
b) Integrated Diploma in French/German/Italian/Japanese/ Russian: Pass in Plus two or equivalent. Previous knowledge in the language concerned is not essential
c) Diploma in French/German/Japanese/Russian: Pass in Pre-Degree/plus- two or equivalent thereto of any University recognized by CUSAT. Previous knowledge of the language is not essential.
d) PG Diploma in Communicative English: Bachelor’s Degree holders of any University acceptable by CUSAT
e) PG Diploma in Translation and Functional Hindi: Bachelor’s degree with Hindi as one of the subjects
f) PG Diploma in Intellectual Property Laws: Bachelor’s Degree in Law, Economics, Political Science, History, Management and Science & Technology/Engineering
M.Phil Programmes (Full-Time)
M.Phil Chemistry, Commerce, Hindi, Physics and Mathematics: Master’s degree in the concerned subject with at least 55% marks.
M. Phil. Applied Economics: Pass in Masters Degree examination in the subject concerned from any of the Universities approved by the UGC or an examination accepted by the Academic Council as equivalent thereto with a minimum of 55% aggregate marks (or equivalent grade) in the examination.
M.Phil Marine Chemistry: Master’s Degree in Hydrochemistry, Chemistry or any other branch of Chemistry with a minimum of 55% marks in aggregate or equivalent grade
M.Phil Fisheries Science: M.Sc Degree in Industrial Fisheries/Marine Biology/Zoology/Aquatic Biology and Fisheries/Fishery Biology and Aquaculture/Capture and Culture Fisheries/Aquaculture/M.F.Sc/M.Sc Applied Fisheries and Aquaculture/ M.Sc Aquaculture and Fish Processing or any other Post Graduate Degree in Fisheries and Allied subjects / Life Sciences / Biotechnology with a minimum of 55% marks in aggregate or equivalent grade
M.Phil Life Sciences: Master’s degree in any branch of Life Sciences with 60% marks

Ph.D PROGRAMMES

Ph.D programmes are offered in all the teaching Departments/Schools and recognized Institutions of the University
Candidates are advised to ascertain the areas of research and the availability of vacancies from the Departments/Schools or Recognized Institutions before-hand. Candidates intending to do research in the Recognized Institutions of the University are to obtain application forms from the University Departments/Schools dealing with the discipline of their choice

Post Doctoral Fellowship

CUSAT offers 7 Post Doctoral Fellowships, one each in the Faculties of Science, Social Science, Law, Environmental Studies, Marine Sciences, Technology and Humanities
The Fellowship value is Rs 12,500/- per month and a contingency grant of Rs 20,000/- per annum
The minimum eligibility for the award of the P.D.F. shall be Doctorate Degree in any of the faculty with at least two research publications in refereed journals; to apply for PDF, the candidate shall identify a Mentor who shall be a permanent Faculty of the University, holding a Doctoral Degree and shall be recognized Research Guide of the University and prepare a Research Project Proposal in consultation with the Mentor in the specific format provided by the University and submit the same to the Head/Director of the Department/School after authentication by the Mentor

Lateral Entry to B.Tech Third Semester through LET

B.Tech in Civil Engg, Computer Science & Engg, Electrical & Electronics Engg, Electronics & Communication Engg., Information Technology, Instrumentation Technology, Mechanical Engg., Polymer Science & Engineering and Safety & Fire Engg
Eligibility: Any three year Diploma in Engineering/Technology awarded by the Board of Technical Education recognized by the Department of Technical Education, Government of Kerala with not less than 60% marks
Age limit: The maximum age prescribed is 25 years as on 1st July of the year of admission

How to Apply

Submission of CUSAT CAT Online Application does not reserve any type of admission to the University which is subject to compliance with Rules and Regulations of the University force at the time of admission
All Candidates applying for Common Admission Test 2015 (CAT 2015) should submit their applications On-line International candidates and those applying for the Lateral Entry programme/ MBA / M.Tech should also submit their applications on-line
Candidates for PhD/PDF/M Phil/ MA Translation-German & Russian / Diploma/Certificate programmes need not submit online application form; they can obtain the printed application from the concerned Departments on request by paying the required application fee through Demand Draft, drawn in favour of “Registrar, CUSAT” payable at Ernakulam, either by post or directly
For MBA programme the selection is based on C-MAT (AICTE)/MAT(AIMA)/ CAT(IIM) score,Group Discussion and interview of CUSAT. Those who wish to apply for Management programmes should compulsorily register for the same on-line along with other programmes of CAT 2015
The candidates should download the admit card for the Common Admission Test from the website (http://cusat.nic.in) w.e.f. 20th April 2015 to 03rd May 2015
Admit cards will not be sent to the candidate’s address by post; candidates must retain the Admit Card till the admission process is over. (To be produced whenever demanded)
No candidate will be permitted to appear for the Common Admission Test 2015 without a valid Admit Card
Mode of payment of application fee for online submission: By cash payment at SBI or SBT bank using the chalan that can be downloaded at the end of online registration/submission of application or through internet banking; candidates who have opted for test centre at Dubai should remit an additional amount of Rs 10,000/-
Mode of payment for DAT application: By Demand Draft for required amount drawn in favour of“Registrar, CUSAT” payable at Cochin, issued by SBT or SBI ONLY
Candidates should write his/her name and Application No. on upper left hand corner of the reverse side of the Demand Draft; the demand draft should be drawn on or after the date of CAT 2015 Notification
DD drawn after the last date fixed for the submission of application will not be accepted

Application fees once remitted will not be refunded under any circumstance

M.Tech Marine Bio-Technology: Selection of candidates is done by Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) on behalf of Department of Biotechnology, Government of India through a National Test along with all such examinations conducted by the University (JNU); GATE Score is not considered for admission

How to Register Online

Candidates are advised to read carefully all information published in the web sitehttp://cusat.ac.in or http://cusat.nic.in before submitting online application
The online application submission is a two-stage process
In the first stage the candidate should submit a few basic details such as Name, Date of Birth, emailid, mobile phone no, etc correctly so as to get their user-id and password by SMS/email
In the second stage the candidate should login using this user-id and password. Immediately they will be asked to change their password. Now submit all other details required in the online registration form and upload your recent passport size (color) photograph (3.5 cm x 4.5 cm with the file size between 4 KB and 100 KB and signature (3.5 cm x 1.5 cm with file size between 1 KB and 30 KB)
Please note that once the application is confirmed by pressing the CONFIRM button, no further changes are possible
In the chalan payment mode, choose your bank first and then take printout of the chalan form along with the instructions page and make payment in the bank after two working days from the date of registration
Make sure that the journal number is correctly entered by the bank in the space provided in the chalan form before leaving the bank; payment can also be made from any Internet Banking enabled SBI/SBT a/c: Login to the internet banking account Choose “Payments/Transfers”;choose “Power Jyothi Fee Collection (PUL). Enter the fee type as printed in your chalan and then click “Submit” button. In the “Validation Date” box enter your date of birth as printed in the chalan
In the “Fee Reference No” box, enter your registration no as printed in the chalan; the click“confirm” button to complete the transaction; note down your transaction number for future reference
After completing the registration process you should logout
