NIT Warangal NITWET 2015 for MSc Admission

M.Sc (Tech) / M.Sc Admissions 2015-16 in NIT Warangal

National Institute of Technology, Warangal is all set to conduct National Institute of Technology Warangal Entrance Test (NITWET-2015) for admission to the Master of Science (M.Sc)programmes, commencing in 2015
The admission in these programmes will be based on the Rank obtained in NITWET-2015/JAM-2015

Of the total seats in the each PG program, 50% of the seats will be filled by CCMN 2015 (Common Counseling for MSc in NITs) based on JAM-2015 Rank /Score and the remaining 50% will be filled by the Rank obtained in NITWET-2015

Note: Vacant seats after CCMN-2015 counseling will be filled by rank obtained in NITWET-2015 as per GOI norms

Master of Science Programs

Admissions to M.Sc programs in Mathematics, Chemistry and M.Sc.(Tech)-Engineering Physics are done through rank obtained in NITWET (National Institute of Technology Warangal Entrance Test) and JAM (Joint Admission Test for M.Sc) conducted by IITs. The following specializations are offered in these programs:

M.Sc (Mathematics) with specialization in a) Applied Mathematics and; b) Mathematics & Scientific Computing

M.Sc (Chemistry) with specialization in a) Organic Chemistry and; b) Analytical Chemistry

M.Sc.(Tech) Engineering Physics

Details of the Departments, Programs, Specializations & Eligibility Requirements:

Department of Physics

M.Sc (Tech) Engineering Physics (with streams of study in Photonics/Electronics/Instrumentation) 3 years 6 semesters

Eligibility: B.Sc degree with 1st class and at least, 60% marks in aggregate in all the optional subjects put together or Equivalent CGPA 6.5 and should have studied Physics, Maths and any other subject as optional

Dept of Mathematics

M.Sc (Applied Mathematics, Mathematics and Scientific Computing) 2 years 4 semesters

Eligibility: B.Sc/ B.A. degree with 1st class with mathematics as main subject and at least; 60% marks in aggregate in all the optional subjects put together or; an equivalent C.G.P.A. 6.5 on a 10 scale

Dept of Chemistry

M.Sc Chemistry Industrial with specialization in Dyes, Drugs, Pharmaceuticals and Pesticides (DDPP)-2 years 4 semesters

M.Sc Chemistry with specialization in Modern Methods of Chemical Analysis (MMCA) 2 years 4 semesters

Eligibility: B.Sc degree with 1st Class with Chemistry as the main subject and at least, 60% marks in all the optional subjects put together or an equivalent C.G.P.A. 6.5

SC/ST and PC candidates with 55% marks or with 6.0 CGPA are also eligible to apply for all the above programs

Important Information

Candidates awaiting the results of the final semester/year may also apply. But they should submit the final marks list before the date given by the Institute in case they are selected

Reservation Percentages

The following is the category-wise reservations for admission into various programs as per Govt. of India norms
OC - 50.5%
OBC - 27%
SC - 15%
ST - 7.5%
3% of the seats in all these categories will be reserved for Persons with Disabilities

Entrance Exam: There will be 80 objective questions in each subject and the duration of the examination is 2 hours; the 4 marks will be awarded for the correctly answered question and -1 mark will be awarded for the wrongly answered question

Application Fee: Application fee is Rs.800/- (Rs.400/- for SC/ST candidates) for each subject

Applications are to be submitted along with photocopies of necessary certificates and with demand draft for Rs.800/- (Rs.400/- for SC/ST candidates) towards the application Fees

Demand Draft must be drawn in favour of Director, NIT Warangal, payable at SBH, NIT Warangal Branch (Code No.20149) or SBI, Battala Bazar Branch, Warangal

Candidates should create a login and password by registering themselves in the NITWET

Then, they should fill the online application form made available in the website after obtaining DD for the processing fee and scanned copies of their latest passport photo and signature
