Gitam Admission Test (GAT) is a computer based online test conducted for admission to UG andPG Technolgy and Pharmacy Programs in GITAM University at its Visakhapatnam, Hyderabadand Bengaluru Campuses

Admission to B.Tech, B.Arch., & B.Pharmacy Programs GAT (UGTP) - 2015
The GAT (UGTP)-2015 (Online Admission Test) is conducted for admission to the following programs
Programs offered: Visakhapatnam, Hyderbad and Bangaluru campuses
4-Year B.Tech Degree: 1) Electronics & Communication Engg., 2) Electronics & Instrumentation Engg., 3) Computer Science & Engg., 4) Mechanical Engg., 5) Electrical & Electronics Engg., 6) Information Technology, 7) Civil Engg., 8) Industrial Engg., 9) Biotechnology (Visakhapatnam); 10) Aeronautical Engineering (Hyderabad)

Visakhapatnam Campus:

5 Year Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch); 4 Year B.Pharmacy
Visakhapatnam, Hyderbad and Bangaluru campuses
6 Year Dual Degree (B.Tech. + M.Tech):
1) B.Tech + M.Tech (ECE); 2) B.Tech + M.Tech (Mechanical)

Eligibility Criteria

B.Tech: Pass in Intermediate or 10+2 examination with a minimum of 60% aggregate marks (50% aggregate marks for B.Arch/B.Pharm) in Mathematics, Physics & Chemistry and First Class or equivalent grade in the qualifying examination from a recognized Central/State Board or its equivalent either in 2015 or 2014 and rank obtained in GAT (UGTP)-2015
Note: Candidates with Mathematics/Biology, Physics & Chemistry subjects are eligible for B.Tech Biotechnology (60% aggregate marks in group and First Class/equivalent grade) and B.Pharmacy
*Candidates seeking admission to B.Arch. program shall qualify in NATA/JEE (Main)

Admission Test GAT (UGTP) - 2015

The duration of the test is 2 hours. The test consists of three sections
Section-A: Mathematics/Biology 40 (no of questions); 120 (marks)
Section-B: Physics 30 (no of questions); 90 (marks)
Section-C: Chemistry 30 (no of questions); 90 (marks)
Total: 100 (no of question); 300 (marks)

M.Tech Programs GAT (PGT) - 2015

GAT (PGT)-2015 (Online Admission Test) is conducted for admission to the following M.Tech Programs offered at Hyderabad and Visakhapatnam Campuses
Visakhapatnam Campus: Software Engineering (SE); Information Technology (IT); RF & Microwave Engineering (RF & ME); Embedded Systems(EBD); Digital Systems & Signal Processing (DSSP); Electronic Instrumentation (EI); Structural Engg. & Natural Disaster Management (SENDM); Machine Design (MD); CAD/CAM; Industrial Engineering & Management (IEM); Biotechnology; Food Processing Technology (FPT)
Hyderabad Campus: Computer Science and Technology (CST); VLSI Design; Power Systems and Automation (PSA)
Eligibility Criteria: Pass in the qualifying examination from recognized university with a minimum of 50% marks or equivalent grade and score obtained in GAT (PGT) 2015 as specified below:

Section-B: Reasoning and Intelligence 30 (no of questions); 90 (marks)
Section-C: Verbal Ability 30 (no of questions); 90 (marks)
Total: 100 (no of question); 300 (marks)
Note: i) All questions are of objective type (multiple choice questions) each question has four options out of which one is correct answer. Each correct answer will be awarded 3 marks. 1 mark will be deducted from the score for each wrong answer. The unanswered questions will receive nil marks
ii) GATE qualified candidates are exempted from appearing for GAT (PGT) - 2015, however they need to apply to GITAM University for admission before the last date and the candidate has to attend counselling as per the schedule

M.Pharmacy Programs GAT (PGP) - 2015 

The GAT (PGP) - 2015 (Online Admission Test) is conducted for admission to the following M.Pharmacy Programs offered at Visakhapatnam Campus

2 Year M.Pharmacy Programs offered at Visakhapatnam Campus

1) Pharmaceutics; 2) Pharmacology; 3) Pharmaceutical Analysis & Quality Assurance; 4) Pharmaceutical Chemistry
Eligibility Criteria: Pass in B.Pharmacy from a recognized university with a minimum of 50% marks or equivalent grade and Score obtained in GAT (PGP) - 2015
Section-A: Pharmaceutics: 25 (no of questions); 75 (marks)
Section-B: Pharmaceutical Analysis and Quality Assurance 25 (no of questions); 75 (marks)
Section-C: Pharmacology 25 (no of questions); 75 (marks)
Section-D: Pharmaceutical Chemistry 25 (no of questions); 75 (marks)
Total: 100 no of questions; 300 (marks)

How to Apply

Candidates can apply in any one of the following methods:
i) Apply online at www.gitam.edu
ii) Applications can also be obtained by post from Director-Admissions by sending a request on plain paper giving the candidate’s name with complete mailing address accompanied by demand draft for Rs.150/- drawn in favour of GITAM University payable at Visakhapatnam on any scheduled bank Request for applications by post will be accepted upto 31st March, 2015
iii) Applications are available throughout India in Union Bank of India/Indian Bank/Karur Vysya Bank; list of branches is available on the website
The filled - in application along with Demand Draft for Rs.1000/- (Rs.600/- for female candidates), drawn in favor of Gitam University, payable at Visakhapatnam on any scheduled bank, should reach Director-Admissions, Gitam University, Gandhi Nagar Campus, Rushikonda, Visakhapatnam-530045, Andhra Pradesh, INDIA on or before 31st March 2015
Test Centres: Anantapur, Bellary, Bengaluru (City), Bengaluru (Gitam Campus), Bhubaneswar, Chennai, Chittoor, Davangere, Guntur, Gauhati, Hubli, Hyderabad (City), Hyderabad (GITAM Campus), Jamshedpur, Kadapa, Karimnagar, Khammam, Kolkata, Kurnool, Mangalore, Mysore, Nagpur, Nellore, New Delhi, Nizamabad, Patna, Pune, Raichur, Raipur, Rajahmundry, Tadepalligudem, Tirupathi, Tumkuru, Vijayawada, Visakhapatnam, Warangal
The final list of centres will be announced to candidates through the website www.gitam.edu
The University reserves the right to cancel any test centre and in such a case, candidates allotted to these centres will be accommodated in alternate test centres

Important points to note

i) Hall Tickets will not be sent by post
ii) The University is not responsible for delay in receipt or loss of Application
iii) In all matters in the conduct of GAT-2015, the decision of the Vice-Chancellor will be final All disputes pertaining to GAT-2015 shall be subject to the jurisdiction of Visakhapatnam
iv) Every effort has been made by GITAM University to ensure the correctness of the information provided in this document
However, in case of a conflict in interpretation, the decision of the Vice-Chancellor is final and binding on those who apply for GAT-2015
